Ibis Lugano Paradiso

Had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was good. It is such a well maintained star hotel. The staff were very kind to share any info regarding the places around to visit. Sadly for us, the night we went out, it rained so heavily. We called the hotel and booked a cab. It would have been a 30-second ride from where we were stranded due to heavy rain to our hotel. The ride did cost us 20 Francs, which was a huge amount for that short ride. But the cab driver kept saying that it was the fixed price. We expected some Honda or regular cabs, but we got a Mercedes. That drive was the saddest part of our entire Swiss trip.😅 We wanted to take a cab because we had the major part of the trip later that week, and we didn't wanna get sick by getting drenched in the thunderstorms. However, they offer Umbrella service, which you can make use of during very hot summer days as well as heavy rainy days, which was super helpful. Had we used that, we could have avoided that cab ride. The hotel is located in close proximity to the train station as well as near major bus stops & boat stops(which was awesome, by the way, and they take you to the coast of Italy too. Highlh recommended), which are managed by SBB. So, if you have a Swiss pass, you can make a great advantage out of it by staying in this hotel.

I was in Ibis Hotel Lugano Paradiso for 3 days in January. It is a new building. Very good for me and my wheelchair. I found It very comfortable, clean, very warm. Of course Lugano it is not a cheap city, almost everything isn't cheap. Including the hotel. But it was worth the price. So I have a good memory of it. The underground parking is very comfortable. The toilet of disable people was good. Even it is not the most important thing I want to report that the building of Ibis Paradiso had a very beautiful architecture.

Bad experience and bad customer service. We made a reservation for a room with two beds for 2 adults and a kid. And we had to pay more for this option than the regular room. Which is already overpriced When we arrived, our room had only one bed and the only solution we got offered was a baby crib ( for a 11yo kid) And when we went to complain, staff tried to blame us for the missing bed. When the reservation explicitly mentioned this. They also lied about contacting us after the incident. You should consider other options if you are teavelling with family

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! We were scammed for a 250€ deposit. My fiance and I booked one night at the Ibis Paradiso, and at check-in, we were told there was an extra deposit for the night. This information wasn't anywhere to be found on their website! The hotel service said this is a normal procedure and that they would block my credit card for 250€ until check-out. We paid 218€ for the night, plus hidden costs like city tax, garage, and extra services, totaling around 250€. Then, an extra 250€ was blocked. The next morning, we checked out, but the amount was not unblocked as they assured us it would be. It was a Saturday before Easter, and after a few workdays, I checked with my bank, which confirmed that the amount was indeed charged to my credit card (I have proof of it), and that they couldn't refund something that wasn't there! After talking to an employee of the hotel who couldn't help me, I will now take legal action against this hotel! I don't want to start talking about other things like parking and the room itself... Just do yourself a favor and do not book this hotel!
